The tablet is made by Samsung and, according to reports from the conference, it’s not at all an ordinary tablet.  How can we get one?  Well unfortunately, that probably won’t be possible unless you want to spend some cash on Ebay.  The new Windows 8 Tablet is was made specifically for this event, for developers and it will almost certainly remain that way. Even the name of the tablet says that: Samsung Windows 8 Developer Preview PC.  Yeah, probably not the best name to take to market. The specs are nothing short of impressive for a tablet, though, starting with the 11.6 inch display. This beast doesn’t use an energy-saving CPU either like most tablets tend to do. It has an Intel core i5 CPU, 4 GB of DDR3 RAM and the storage is on a 64 GB SSD drive. The device also has WiFi connectivity and a SIM card slot with 2 GB of wireless data offered every month to people attending the conference.  Microsoft seems to have covered everything with this. Now, all that’s left is for developers to start, well, developing :) Although the rest of us probably won’t be able to get our hands on one of these, we can download the Windows 8 beta today so at least it’s not all bad news… Comment Name * Email *
